A Breath Before Drowning – Reading this book was a real treat! I was swept up in the story and couldn’t put it down. The characters are vivid and feel like someone you might meet in real life. I wasn’t expecting the ending. It’s a rare author that can pull one over on me and I enjoyed every minute of it. Anxiously waiting the next work from this author!
A Breath Before Drowning – This book is full of surprises. Well written, and keeps you engaged. The characters have depth which is important to me in a good book. And I love it when I can’t guess the ending.
Splat The Dinosaur – As someone with a neurodivergent child, stories like this are important for parents and children alike to practice tolerance and understanding towards others perceived as “different”. We live in such a polarized world. More than ever, we need to preach unity and it starts with our little ones.
Splat The Dinosaur – This book introduces a lovable main character, Splat the Dinosaur. Kids will understand his wish for a playmate and cheer him on until he finds the right fit. I purchased this for a friend whose child is on the spectrum. He was drawn to the colorful pictures right away and looked through the entire book. It’s truly a gem for any household that wants to teach self acceptance. And I just love that it is written by a mother and son on the spectrum, which not only gives the story authenticity but also teaches that the only limits we have are the ones we place on ourselves.
By raising the next generation with the principles of awareness for their fellow humans, we can ensure the world to be a better place, even if it’s by a slight amount. You can’t reach for the stars without taking a step first.
Seeking The Wolf – Seeking the Wolf was a great adventure. Getting to read the viewpoints and experiences from several different characters was interesting and kept the story engaging. I’m looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds in the next two books!
Bill Burkhardt

From the moment he first picked up a pencil in first grade, a storyteller was in the making. But by second grade, music and drawing had taken center stage, pushing his writing into the background—though never extinguishing it. For years, he poured his creativity into melodies and artwork, yet deep within, the quiet stirrings of a writer refused to fade. By the time he turned thirty, the urge to create entire worlds from scratch became undeniable. What started as scattered ideas for a dark fantasy quickly evolved into a fully realized story, and before he knew it, he was exploring publishing options for his first book. Once that journey began, there was no turning back—his life became utterly consumed by the craft of storytelling, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Doril Song (The Book of Deathly Anagrams) – This author weaves words so well that his work draws me in from page one! This interesting story, accompanied by the authors top notch writing, will reel you in for an afternoon of mystery an adventure. I’m excited to read more by this author!
A Third of Infinity (The Book of Deathly Anagrams) – Such an enjoyable read! I’d sure love to pick Sixdoom’s demonic brain for more details and information. Can’t say I believe he’s as ill-informed as he lets on about certain things. But seriously, it’s a cleverly conceived and well written tale. Loved it!
The Anteater King (The Book of Deathly Anagrams) – This book was exciting and very well written. The author spins a tale well, every word is meticulously placed. I enjoyed this and will be picking up more books from this author!
Priori (The Book of Deathly Anagrams) – This was an intelligently written story about a group of excavators that take on a project at the North Pole. Though the mission is known to be dangerous, curiosity and pride get the better of the man leading it. What they find is otherworldly, lethal and the stuff of nightmares.
The prose was incredible. A short read that had me enthralled until the very end. A must read!!
Extra Information –
First published in 2014. President of Sixdoom Literary. A sucker for demonology and female narrators. Quietly rising antagonist. I want people to be leaving weird stuff at my grave 100 years from now.
M. D. Wiselln

M.D. Wiselln was born and raised in Ohio, though—so far as he knows—he’s not actually a werewolf (despite occasionally pretending to be one online). A longtime enthusiast of chat-based roleplaying, he’s been weaving stories in digital realms since the late 1990s and still spends many late nights bringing characters to life. His books draw heavy inspiration from the rich stories and unforgettable personalities he’s encountered in various roleplaying communities over the years.
When he’s not writing, roleplaying, or plotting his next great adventure, M.D. enjoys movies, musical theater, and the ever-evolving world of technology. By day, he’s a computer programmer for a major U.S. bank, but by night, he’s lost in worlds of his own creation. Now living in Kansas, he shares his life with his incredible wife—whom he fatefully met on one of those very same roleplaying sites—their son, and a small army of cats.

Sins of the Forefathers (Law of Teeth Book 1) – I’m a huge fan of fantasy but I’ve had problems finding anything not classified as young urban. Sins of the forefathers is definitely for an audience, who’d like to read fantasy without every other page being about shiny vamps or bulky wolves, hot witches or sexy succubi.
This author takes the fantasy genre to a new place. I got very invested in his characters and even though the story unfolds quite slow in the beginning, I couldn’t stop reading. The plot twists are brilliant! The writing itself is eloquent and brilliant.
Obviously it’s a first novel but the author has oodles of potential and I can’t wait for the second volume.
Scars: A Law of Teeth Story – This is M. D. Wiselln’s third published book in the Law of Teeth universe (though it is first chronologically) and once again, he really brings Geoff Cooper to life! “Scars” is more than an origin story or an infection story…it’s a coming-of-age story with universal themes that everyone can relate to, despite being about werewolves. And it really showcases his range of writing talent; the other books focus on world-building, action/suspense, and the storyline but “Scars” is an exploration of how life experiences shape the person you become. And just like his other books, the characters are the superstars of the book. Although it’s a whole new cast (save for Geoff Cooper, of course), they have distinct traits and personalities so none of them ever feel like they’ve been “recycled” from other books.
Although “Scars” can be read on its own, I HIGHLY recommend reading “Sins of the Forefathers” and “Bloody Justice” first – you will NOT be disappointed!
Bloody Justice (Law of Teeth Book 2) – This book was clever, the pacing and sharing of knowledge, frameworks and metaphysics were consistent and continued to grow on the foundations made. The characters were genuine and real, including the shady overseers and the villain! The insight into the monster’s mind was unnerving and every time I thought the Pack was ahead, a wrench was tossed in. Highly recommend this book for an immersive drama.
Lucia Laurence

Lucia Laurence is a rising indie author with two books published, another on the way, and a “To Be Written” list that seems to stretch into eternity. A lover of all things magical and romantic, she spends her days lost in daydreams, crafting enchanting new characters, breathtaking stories, and immersive worlds filled with adventure and passion.
Specialising in romantasy and romance novels, Lucia weaves both MF and MM pairings into her tales, bringing heart-stirring emotions and unforgettable journeys to life. When she’s not writing, she’s exploring the great outdoors with her family or sharing her love of storytelling through teaching creative writing. More often than not, she can be found dramatically pretending to be scandalised when her husband teases her about the spicy scenes in her books—or attempting to type with a snuggly tabby sprawled across her lap and a grumpy (but secretly soft-hearted) black cat determined to claim her keyboard.

Foreword – I’d love to share a bit about my first two books, Light the Shadows and The Huntsman and the Spellweaver with you! Both are slow burn romantasies with fairly equal emphasis on love story and fantasy plot, inspired by Celtic and Norse mythology. Their stories and characters are interconnected, but each has its own HEA and can be read as a standalone.
Light the Shadows is a reluctant allies to lovers, dusky but not full blown dark romance with a relatable, determined FMC and a broody, moody but charming fae shifter MMC.
The Huntsman and the Spellweaver is an MM romance full of will-they-won’t-they tension, highly emotional character development, lots of tearjerker moments, and two absolute cinnamon roll MMCs.

The Huntsman and the Spellweaver: An MM Fantasy Romance (Under Elfhame’s Stars) – Oh my goodness, I could not wait to read this book after reading Light the Shadows and I was not disappointed! I read the whole thing in less than a day. I just couldn’t put it down! The story had me totally emotionally hooked right from the start and it didn’t let go until the end! The plot moves along really well and is so interesting and exciting. The best part about it is that all the challenges and danger push Tam and Eadric together more. I also really loved seeing Tam go from feeling so unworthy and ashamed to loving himself as much as he deserved! His character grew so much over the book and that really became a main part of the story. Tam and Eadric’s will-they-won’t-they romance was the best part of the book. It had me on the edge of my seat cheering for them all the way through. I love these two so much. They are so sweet and they deserve their happy ending so much! The spice was also so worth the wait!
Light the Shadows: A Fae Fantasy Romance (Under Elfhame’s Stars) – The angst, the magic, the adventure, the descriptions, everything felt so beautiful and real. I cried, I laughed, I gasped.
I could not get enough of Umbriel’s moments of bloodthirsty protectiveness of Lyra. I felt my heart tumble over realizing when he fell for her, and I wanted to shake her for not realizing it and being convinced that he didn’t care. I loved how loyal she was to Tam and my heart broke over her father’s mistreatment of her.
I could read a hundred books about Lyra and Umbriel. Like the book could just be describing the mundane parts of life together, without a single adventure, and I would still eat it up with a spoon.
I think Lucia Laurence is easily a new favorite author.
Maximilian Sam

Maximilian Sam is the award-winning author of two children’s books (It’s A Stray Dog’s Life and It’s A Stray Dog’s Life 2), a compilation of random short stories (Stories From A Stray), and a guide to PR for authors and small businesses (The PR Mystery).
He has, so far, lived in 10 countries around the World. He started in the UK before drifting across Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. He is now, slowly, making his way back from East to West and is currently based in Turkey until the next stop comes calling.
Max has worked in PR for over 25 years with some of the biggest global companies and some smaller ones, too. He founded MaxSam Communications in 2024 to offer communications advice and strategies to authors and small businesses. His career has allowed him to travel and see parts of the world most only ever see in holiday magazines. There are still many places to see and experiences to enjoy. He certainly isn’t finished yet.
Max launched the Stray Army brand in 2022. It includes stories about the stray dogs he has looked after in Turkey through their eyes. There are many other stray dogs and cats he’s made friends with, so expect the series to grow as time goes by. It also offers a wide range of merchandise from clothing to mugs, to stickers with lots in between.
Max grew up in the UK and calls Watford his true home. If a stray can ever have a true home. It also accounts for his devotion to Saracens Rugby Club and Watford FC, a combination probably requiring therapy. He finds the easiest way of dealing with bad results is to jump on a boat or jet ski and leave his troubles out on the water.
Max grew up surrounded by rough collies (think Lassie) and knows, when he finally quits his globetrotting days and settles down, there will be two more of his favourite breed to share his house. He was also fortunate to meet many interesting people as a child and has carried this through his adult life in the belief people make the world interesting. It also supplies plenty of anecdotes and mad escapades to include in future books or his regular blog.

It’s A Stray Dog’s Life: Welcome To the World Of The Stray Dogs (Book 2) – I loved ‘It’s a stray dog’s life’, which is a charming book for children, featuring three stray dogs and this second book is equally charming. This time we follow new strays, Mumsy and her puppies Pitch and Putt, Jasper and Toby.
Just like the first book the chapters are short, just perfect for bedtime reading, and wonderful morale themes are woven into the stories. Maximilian has a lovely soft touch, knowing just how to pull the heart strings as well as having you giggling at the dogs’ antics.
The stories are well written and I can imagine children, and adults, falling in love with the characters. If you’re after a kid’s book with real heart, then I recommend both books in this series – they’re just lovely!
It’s A Stray Dog’s Life – What a lovely little book, its a children’s one but I loved it even more so as an adult.
It’s a beautiful insight into the lives of the stray dogs and want they’re thinking.
I had a little cry at one point because I imagined how happy they get just for some cuddles.
What a gorgeous book, my children loved it.
Johanna Cogbill

Johanna had always enjoyed writing from a young age and recently discovered a collection of short stories she had written as a teenager. While on holiday in Sorrento in 2017, she felt that the stunning backdrop would be perfect for her first book, and so Ciao Cariad was born. The story is also set in Porthcawl, a seaside town where Johanna and her family had a caravan at the time.
In her book, Seabreeze Cottage is inspired by a derelict house along the seafront that Johanna had always found fascinating. Ciao Cariad sat on her laptop until, as a surprise for Johanna’s 50th birthday, her daughter edited and published it. And as they say, the rest is history.

Ciao Cariad – Recently finished Ciao Cariad and loved it! It’s a very feel good book, the story of friendship and family was so sweet and endearing! I was engaged with the characters and rooting for them, as a Welsh girl myself it was so lovely to see the setting in porthcawl having been there many times myself it made me feel joy! It’s also really made me want to jet off to sorento! Recommend this book completely. Johanna did an excellent job I look forward to more fun books from her in the future.
Two Scoops of Gelato – Having enjoyed Ciao Cariad, it was good to revisit the characters surrounding the Welsh Ice Cream parlour ‘Nice Ice’. Through dual timeline we discover more of their backstories. I found Mario and Connie relatable characters. Plenty of twists and turns develop, proving ‘life’ is rarely straightforward! An enjoyable read.
Michael Fording (Ross Cameron)

Ross Cameron lives in Lincolnshire, England, with his wife. His passion for words and writing began in 1970 when, at the age of 7, he borrowed his mum’s typewriter permanently. He started by writing Leeds United football team sheets and became captivated by the process of seeing thoughts appear on blank white paper. At 14, Ross bought an electric typewriter and, in order to learn touch typing, he covered the typewriter with a tea towel. This became his one skill—touch typing.
At 16, Ross developed an obsession with writing about cars, inspired by his mum’s cousin purchasing an Aston Martin DBS. They would speed through Lincolnshire at 120 m.p.h., an experience that sparked his interest in automotive history. Ross specialized in the history of cars from 1885 to 1945. In 1986, he began creating quizzes for Autocar, which appeared in the magazine’s Christmas issues for several years. He also researched car provenance, judged at local car shows, and tracked down old chassis or body drawings for coachbuilders. Over the years, he wrote books about makes and models of cars, but none of them were ever completed, as there was always another make or model to explore.
In his fifties, Ross grew frustrated with the meticulous process of proving every fact in his writing. He began writing erotic fiction, which he had always written as a personal hobby. His inspiration came from photographs of women—some glamorous, others more erotic in nature—by photographers like Helmut Newton, Reinfried Marrass, and local photographers. This interest led him to explore alternative lifestyles, BDSM, and polyamorous relationships, themes which appear in many photographers’ portfolios.
When his first book was published in March 2023, Ross created a Facebook page under the pen name Michael Fording. Initially, he struggled to gain followers and ran out of content when he focused solely on his book. To build a following, he started writing more diverse material. By May 2023, he joined writer and reader groups, which initially had only a handful of followers. By September 2024, Ross had grown a following of 3,000 on Facebook and around 2,000 on Instagram due to the nature of his intimate content. However, due to social media’s push for transparency and the aversion to pen names, he deleted his Michael Fording Facebook page in September 2024. Rather than changing his name on that account, he opted to delete it entirely. On Instagram, where his following was more rooted in his content, he simply changed his name.
Today, Ross has accumulated over 1,400 followers on his new page, Ross Cameron – Writer, Poet and Author, and over 4,600 followers on Instagram. To expand his reach and provide a broader range of content, he began writing short stories, which, compared to his 500-page or 200,000-word books and essays, are much shorter. His first poem was written in March 2024 after encouragement from Jennifer at JKPoetry and Victoria L. Mead, both of whom are more accomplished poets than Ross. Despite his relatively recent foray into poetry, his followers seem to appreciate his content. Ross writes not just to entertain, but to provoke thought and encourage self-reflection.
While he’s now more widely known as a poet, which still feels strange to him, Ross continues to post poems daily, although he also writes stories, essays, and pieces about music, songs, and artists. His background in the automotive industry, which almost became his profession for 40 years, also continues to inspire his content.
Ross is particularly grateful for the support of Willow Hewett, who has been a constant source of encouragement from the start of his career two years ago. Many of Ross’s most dedicated supporters came from his first 20 followers, a fact that still surprises him. Willow, a workaholic like Ross, shares his unconventional approach to work, and they both bring their own unique methods to their creative endeavors.

This novel has me flashing back to Fifty Shades of Grey with Michael Fording’s own creative twists. He incorporates imagination with reality to tell a story that satiates. While this book isn’t what I typically read, I found Fording’s writing style to be captivating.
Seb Johns

Seb first realised he wanted to write a book when he was around eleven years old. The inspiration struck after watching The Lord of the Rings for the first time, igniting a desire to create a story of his own. Like many aspiring writers, he began with a fantasy novel—scribbling ideas into a blank book while on holiday in France with his family. The result, by his own admission, was terrible.
For years, writing remained little more than a passing thought. It wasn’t until his early twenties, after reading A Game of Thrones, that his passion for storytelling resurfaced. One idea in particular took hold—while most fantasy worlds drew from medieval Europe, with knights, castles, and kings, he wondered why a similar epic couldn’t be inspired by the rich histories of the East, such as ancient China and Japan. With that concept in mind, he set to work on a novel influenced by the Three Kingdoms period of China and Japan’s Sengoku Jidai era—an ambitious project he still hopes to complete.
Not long after, a writing challenge led him down a different creative path. Inspired by a song from one of his favorite metal bands, he developed a new fantasy novel titled The Ballad of Ice and Snow. Since then, this has been his primary focus, though he fully intends to return to his first novel once it’s finished.
During this time, Seb also enrolled in a writer’s course at Strode College, where he explored new genres and gained fresh inspiration. Though horror had never been a genre he considered, the course sparked ideas for several short stories. To his surprise, he found himself captivated by the darker side of storytelling. He has since written three horror stories, all of which are available on Amazon Kindle.
From an early dream sparked by a fantasy epic to publishing his own works, Seb’s writing journey has been one of unexpected turns, evolving inspirations, and a growing passion for storytelling.

Surrounded by granite tors and wild moorland, her childhood fostered a deep love for nature and spirituality—both of which continue to inspire her writing. Now based in Bristol, she balances motherhood with an active outdoor lifestyle, drawing creativity from the natural world for her stories and poetry.
Her published works include the debut novel Hope by the Sea, a short story collection titled Sophie’s Shell & Other Curious Tales, and the novelette The Treehouse.

Review
I thoroughly enjoyed Hope by the Sea. It’s a lovely, sometimes emotional and overall heartwarming story set in the beautiful seaside town of St Ives in Cornwall. The descriptions of St Ives and the mentions of Hayle evoke fond memories for me of many happy holidays spent there during my childhood. Tessy has created a diverse array of characters and hasn’t shied away from dealing with several hard hitting topics in the most authentic and honest way. I could relate to a couple of the themes in the book and that made it all the more real for me too. I’m now eagerly awaiting the release of her next novel which I’m sure will be just as well written and thought out.
