I won’t tell you which three books had an impact on me. But I will tell you which author had an impact on my life.

R.L. Stine is a legendary author best known for his Goosebumps and Fear Street series, which have captivated generations of young readers with their thrilling plots and just-scary-enough twists. His writing style is fast-paced, imaginative, and endlessly entertaining—qualities that made his books the first ones I ever truly connected with. Picking up a Goosebumps book as a kid was like opening the door to a whole new world, and those stories were what sparked my love for reading. Stine’s ability to blend suspense with humour and unforgettable characters inspired me so much that I eventually began writing my own stories. His books didn’t just entertain me—they helped shape who I am today as a writer.

I began writing at the age of seven, mostly horror stories inspired by Stine’s work, and by the time I was thirteen, I had written my first full book—one that has since gone on to win eight book awards. Stine’s books didn’t just entertain me—they lit the spark that led me to become a writer myself.
